NEW YORK, December 7, 2017 (WAFA) – Eight members of the 15-member United Nations Security Council called for an urgent meeting for the council to discuss US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel, according to media reports.
The two permanent Security Council members, Britain and France, along with Sweden, Italy, Egypt, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Senegal have called for the urgent meeting, which is expected to be held on Friday.
Meanwhile, world condemnation of the US move continued.
Turkey’s Recep Tayyeb Erdogan continued on Thursday his strong criticism of the US decision.
Condemnation also came from Egypt, Kuwait, Tunisia, Russia, and many other world leaders and governments.
