RAMALLAH, October 3, 2016 (WAFA) – A Palestinian detainee held in Israeli jails said he was tortured while being interrogated in Israeli jails, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said on Monday.
Fayez Attar, 65, from the Gaza Strip who was arrested in June, told a PPS attorney that during his interrogation, which lasted for 33 days, he was exposed to multiple forms of physical and psychological torture, including severe beating, verbal abuse, and prolonged hand-cuffing.
Attar said that after the course of interrogation, he was moved to prison cells containing pro-Israel informants during which his head was covered with a bag that almost suffocated him and he was also beaten.
The prisoner is married and has nine children, one of them was killed by Israeli forces.
