PLO: Peace Process is Liable to Collapse

RAMALLAH, January 14, 2014 (WAFA) – The Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) Executive Committee said Monday that the peace process is liable to collapse unless it is based on the relevant internationally-recognized terms of reference.

It said following a meeting presided over by President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah that it asked the political committee to draw up a plan to implement UN General Assembly resolution that granted Palestine a non-member observer status that allows it to join all UN international agencies.

The PLO condemned as well the blockade imposed on Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria that has caused several cases of death by starvation and called upon all parties to cease belligerent acts and clear obstacles to allow entry of food and medical supplies into the camp.

It also called to move forward on national reconciliation through holding elections and forming an interim unity government of independent technocrats.
