RAMALLAH, January 5, 2013 (WAFA) – The Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) Central Council is expected to meet in the next few days to discuss political developments, Qais Abdul Karim, a senior member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said Saturday.
He said in a statement that the PLO’s Executive Committee decided in its last meeting in Ramallah to convene the Central Council to discuss the next steps following the United Nations vote on Palestine’s status.
He said that the meeting will discuss the changes that must take place within the Palestinian Authority in order for it to cope with the recent changes.
The meeting will also discuss the relation between the PLO, Palestinian Authority and the various Palestinian institutions.
He pointed out that an earlier decision has been reached to delegate to the Central Council the duties of the Palestinian Authority’s government and parliament.
