RAMALLAH, August 22, 2012 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh Wednesday condemned a letter by Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, in which he described President Mahmoud Abbas as an “obstacle to peace” and called for replacing him.
Abu Rudeineh told WAFA that Lieberman’s letter to foreign ministers of the international Quartet for Middle East peace was an incitement to kill.
He called on the Quartet to take a stand from Lieberman’s statements because they “incite to kill and to violence” and are considered meddling in internal Palestinian affairs.
Abu Rudeineh called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to denounce Lieberman’s statements, which he said “do not contribute anything to creating an environment of peace.”
He considered Lieberman as “politically bankrupt,” and “confused.”
