Palestine records 528 new coronavirus cases, two deaths

RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 13, 2022 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 528 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh.

She announced that 528 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and two others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the new 528 cases, 414 cases were recorded in the West Bank and 114 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Kaileh identified the deaths as two residents of the West Bank district of Bethlehem. No death cases were registered in the Gaza Strip.

She added that 298 Covid-19 patients recovered; 184 recovery cases in the West Bank and 114 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 52 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 19 who are connected to ventilators, while 93 others are currently hospitalized across the West Bank.

Recoveries account for 98.2 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March 2020, active cases for 0.8 percent and the death toll accounts for 1 percent.
