SAKHNNIN, Saturday, October 23, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestinians held today evening a protest in front of an Israeli police station in Sakhnin, an Arab city inside Israel, against the failure of the Israeli police to put a stop to the rise in crime in Arab communities in Israel.
Protesters held black flags, pictures of the victims of crimes, and banners condemning the rising crimes and Israeli police complicity and inaction against the rise of crime in Arab towns in Israel.
Palestinians in Israel accuse the police and government of discriminating against them and not doing enough to stop crime in their towns compared to Jewish towns.
Several protests and calls by the Palestinians in Israel, who make up more than 20 percent of the Israeli population, on the government and police to fight the rise in crime in their towns have not yet yielded any significant results with less than a fifth of the crimes be resolved or criminals apprehended.
Since the beginning of this year, 93 Palestinians, including 13 women, have been killed in criminal cases inside Israel.
