RAMALLAH, Wednesday, September 02, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 719 new novel coronavirus cases and three fatalities in the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced in a press statement that 719 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and three others died of it in the occupied territories in the last 24 hours.
Among the 719 new confirmed cases, al-Kaileh added, 233 cases were recorded in Hebron governorate, 41 others in Nablus, 50 others in Bethlehem, 40 others in Qalqilia, 50 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 20 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, another in Salfit, 11 others in Tulkarem, five others in Tubas, 83 others in Gaza, and 167 in Jerusalem governorate.
As for the latest three fatalities, they were for an 80-year-old man from Hebron governorate, a 68-year-old woman from Nablus governorate and a 53-year-old man from Bethlehem governorate.
Meanwhile, al-Kaileh pointed out that 266 COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.
Among the latest recovery cases, 19 cases were recorded in Nablus governorate, 120 others in Hebron, six others in Tulkarem and 121 in Jerusalem.
She noted that 28 COVID-19 patients are still being treated in intensive care units, including five who are still connected to respirators.
