Foreign Ministry records 29 coronavirus cases, one fatality in diaspora

 

RAMALLAH, Friday, August 21, 2020 (WAFA) – The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry late Thursday announced 29 new novel coronavirus cases and one fatality among Palestinians in the diaspora.

The ministry said in a statement that 29 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus in the Michigan, Dallas, Ohio and Illinois, raising the total confirmed cases among Palestinians in the United States to 2,743. The death toll among them stood at 72.

Meanwhile, the ministry pointed out that a 61-year-old Palestinian died due to the virus in Saudi Arabia, raising the death toll among Palestinians in the country to 69.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the Palestinian diaspora reached 4,875.

Recoveries have totaled 1,851, accounting for 38 percent of the total cases, and the death toll reached 220, accounting for 4.5 percent. This leaves a total of 2,804 active cases.
