Palestine records new coronavirus fatality, death toll reaches 81


RAMALLAH, Tuesday, July 28, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Monday late night announced a new novel coronavirus fatality, raising the death toll since the pandemic outbreak in the occupied territories to 81.

The Health Ministry announced that a 69-year-old man from the refugee camp of al-Jalazone, north of Ramallah city, died due to the highly contagious virus.

It added that the victim was at the intensive care unit in the Hugo Chaves Hospital in Turmus Ayya.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 13,457 since the pandemic outbreak.

Out of the 13,457 cases, 10,546 are in the West Bank, 75 in the Gaza Strip and 2,836 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries have totaled 4,556, including 3,282 in the West Bank and Gaza and 1,274 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 8,820 active cases.
