JERUSALEM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 (WAFA) – The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem today demolished a Palestinian-owned house that was still in the construction stage in East Jerusalem’s Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood, according to local sources.
They said Israeli forces escorted a bulldozer into the neighborhood where it knocked down the 90-square-meter house, purportedly for being built without Israeli permission.
Palestinians in East Jerusalem say they have no choice but to build without a permit because getting one from the Israeli municipality is almost impossible in light of a policy by the right-wing Israeli city council to keep the city’s Palestinian population at a bare minimum while multiplying its Jewish settlers by building thousands of new housing units for them in all-Jewish settlements.
