RAMALLAH, April 30, 2016 (WAFA) - The unemployment rate among participants in the labour force aged 15 years and above in Palestine was 26% (About 336 thousand persons were unemployed), said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statists (PCBS). On the occasion of International Labour Day, which falls annually on the 1st of May, PCBS presented the current status of Palestinian labour force during 2015, stating that, the unemployment rate among participants in the labour force aged 15 years and above was “23% for males and 39% for females. The unemployment rate in the West Bank was 17% ( about 143 thousand); 15% for males and 27% for females, compared with 41% in Gaza Strip (about 193 thousand); 36% for males and 60% for females, said PCBS. RAMALLAH, April 30, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Saturday issue on the Israeli forces imposition of restrictions on the entry of Palestinians into al-Aqsa mosque, following an Israeli police’ raid into the mosque’s compound on Friday. Al-Quds daily said Israeli police raided al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam, and detained dozens of worshipers. Al-Ayyam daily said in this regard that Israeli police detained 38 Palestinians after the Friday noon prayers. RAMALLAH, April 30, 2016 (WAFA) – A rise in temperature is expected on Saturday, accompanied by partially cloudy to clear skies, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department. Winds are northwesterly to northeasterly and light to moderate. Sea waves are low. A further rise in temperature is expected on Sunday, to become above the annual average by almost 6 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are expected to drop on Monday, yet remaining above the seasonal average by around 2 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, Temperatures are expected to significantly rise, reaching 8 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average.
