RAMALLAH, April 28, 2016 (WAFA) – The Israeli authorities Thursday issued administrative detention orders against 27 Palestinian detainees, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). Fourteen of the detainees received administrative detention orders for the first time, whereas the remaining detainees received renewed administrative orders. There are more than 500 Palestinian prisoners being held under administrative detention, a controversial Israeli practice that allows detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for up to sex-month intervals that can be renewed indefinitely. JERUSALEM, April 28, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli media sources Thursday reported that the convicted killer of 17-year-old Muhammad Abu Khudeir from Shufat neighborhood has attempted suicide in his prison cell in Ayalon Prison in Ramla. The convicted killer Ben-David, 31, confessed to being the ringleader of a group of three including two minors, which plotted and executed the heinous murder. Abu Khudeir was kidnapped from an East Jerusalem street in the early hours of July 2, 2014, and taken to a forest where he was beaten, doused in petrol and set on fire.    Postmortem results revealed soot deposits in his lungs suggesting he was still breathing when he was set on fire. GAZA, April 28, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday opened gunfire towards Palestinian farmers who tried to access their land near the borders, east of Khan Younes south of the Gaza Strip. WAFA correspondent said that Israeli soldiers stationed in military towers installed along the eastern borders with Israel opened fire towards Palestinian farmers, forcing them to leave their land. To be noted, Israeli soldiers open fire towards farmers in Gaza on daily basis in an attempt to force them out of their farmland, which is relatively close to the borders. M.H
RAMALLAH, April 28, 2016 (WAFA) – The Palestinian cabinet Thursday condemned the international silence towards the execution of the Taha siblings, and the reaction towards Israel’s violations, including arrests, raids and harassment. The government’s spokesperson Yousef Mahmoud said in a press release that the execution of siblings Maram and Ibrahim Taha at Qalandia military checkpoint Wednesday is just another crime to be added to a long Israeli record. He said “There is nothing that can justify the crime which has been committed against a pregnant mother and her brother”, and said the Israeli government has a mafia-like mentality.
