RAMALLAH, May 16, 2012 (WAFA) – A new 24-member government headed by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad was sworn-in Wednesday in Ramallah in front of President Mahmoud Abbas.
The cabinet had nine new ministers, including a finance minister replacing Fayyad who had kept this post almost uninterrupted for the past nine years.
Fayyad formed his first government in June 2007 after the armed Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip.

HEBRON, May 16, 2012 (WAFA) – A teenager was injured on Wednesday when a tear gas canister fired by Israeli soldiers hit him in the face during clashes at the entrance to Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron, according to local sources.
They said Israeli forces fired tear gas at the Palestinians, hitting Omar al-Badawi, 14, in the face. Badawi was transferred to hospital in Hebron for treatment.
